Within a few short months of meeting, Nicole and Mohamed knew they had stumbled upon something quite rare and amazing. Their combined love of travel and adventure brought them immeasurable joy and fulfillment. They soon found life would be much better experienced together. Love hit them hard, fast and in all the best ways it could. It’s funny to think that a girl from Tulsa, Oklahoma would end up with a boy from Marrakech, Morocco, but the world is often serendipitous, miraculous and more vibrant than we think.

Being free spirits, the couple knew they wanted their wedding to reflect their carefree, original personalities and diverse cultural backgrounds. They chose to have a small outdoor wedding at their friends’ private house on Lake Aluma, a cozy lakefront home in the outskirts of Oklahoma City. The ceremony was held shortly before dusk in front of the glistening placid lake on a surprisingly warm and sunny spring day. Given the groom is from Morocco and the bride’s love of all things artisan, the ceremony had a rusty, yet refined Moroccan feel. Moroccan tea glasses, lanterns and flowers topped tables of flowing white that sprinkled the yard. Guests gathered on white chairs to watch the bride, accompanied by her loving father, walk down an aisle of vintage Moroccan rugs. The couple was married under an arch of flowers surrounded by Moroccan poufs and lamps.

The whole day was filled with friends and family laughing by the lake and closing with watching the beautiful sunset. They capped the night with heartfelt toasts and belly laughs. The food was superb, the cake exquisite, the views spectacular, but the company, the company made the evening.
