Natiel Oswald-Bauer and Jonathan Hagen’s Oklahoma Wedding at The Dominion House Captured by Sheradee Hurst Photography
Natiel and Jon met in college. She was a freshman with a crush on the senior captain of the soccer team. Early on, Natiel knew this was going to be the man she married. Lo and behold, seven years later they decided to tie the knot!
Jon surprised Natiel with an engagement after she threw him a surprise party for his 30th birthday. The day after his party, Jon told her he made special reservations for dinner to celebrate her birthday that was the following weekend. When he came to pick her up for dinner, he told her he had made reservations for an hour later than he had thought. To burn time, they went on a “pre-date” with a picnic basket packed in the car. Jon took her to a park where wine glasses and a cheese platter were already set out on a blanket. A gift was also on the blanket, which seemed appropriate as it was a birthday celebration. The gift was a traveling notebook, as Natiel enjoys journaling when exploring new places. Jon opened the book where he had recorded their journeys together from the past seven years. The journal had pictures and short notes about each significant memory. At the end, he listed his future hopes for their travels together. For the last gift, he had her close her eyes. When he asked her to open them, he was down on one knee with the notebook opened to the last page where he had written, “Will you marry me?” Thankfully, Jon’s best friend was hiding behind a nearby tree to capture every moment of this perfect proposal on camera.
Natiel and Jon shared their vows in the breathtaking setting of the outdoor garden at the Dominion House in Guthrie. After shopping practically every bridal shop in the metro, Natiel found the dress of her dreams at Moliere Bridal. The simple elegance and fun that came with a garden wedding was present throughout the night. A variety of cupcakes from Cuppies & Joe, a photo booth with a glamorous backdrop, and quick-print photos were a huge hit for all the guests. This glorious day will be cherished by Natiel and Jon forever.
