Navy & Pink Country Club Wedding in Tulsa | Kara + Andrew

Kara and Andrew had known each other forever. Since kindergarten, the two had gone to school together, but it was not until their senior year of high school when they took a school trip to Spain that their love sparked. On the trip, the two started spending a lot of time together, and let’s face it, how can you not fall in love in Spain? Once the two returned from their trip, they began dating and the rest was history. Even after deciding to attend separate colleges, they worked hard at making their long-distance relationship work. Fortunately, their love prevailed, and Kara says that now getting to spend almost every moment with her best friend simply amazing.

As Kara’s graduation neared, Andrew thought that two days before her graduation would be the ideal time to pop the question. It all started in January 2013, when Andrew asked permission from Kara’s parents for her hand in marriage. Little did everyone know, Andrew would wait four months to actually propose! Given that Kara’s brother lived out of town and Andrew knew how important it was to her to have her entire family present to share the special moment with her, he decided to wait and make the proposal perfect. One night, Andrew’s mom told Kara that everyone wanted to have a graduation dinner for her. When Kara and Andrew arrived at the restaurant, they were the first ones there. The two sat down and popped open a bottle of champagne as they “waited for the others to arrive.” Kara was wearing a “princess grad” tiara given to her by Andrew, just to throw her off. Suddenly, Andrew got up and said he would be right back. When he returned a short 30 seconds later, Kara was confused. With a huge smile on his face, Andrew knelt on one knee. He then asked the most exciting question of her life. Then, to Kara’s surprise, their whole family walked in, cheering and screaming! The proposal was perfect and the couple spent the rest of the weekend celebrating her graduation and their engagement.

Kara Osgood and Andrew Field married on June 7, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa. The bride looked stunning in a Claire Pettibone gown featuring platinum beaded tulle with appliqué and an illusion of champagne. Her cathedral-length veil was made of butterscotch tool with Chantilly lace edges and a blusher. She completed her look with her mother’s 18-karat yellow gold earrings, and carried a bouquet filled with white peonies, calla lilies, orchids, hydrangeas and three pink roses. Kara’s bridesmaids stood by her side wearing bustier tops paired with a wrap skirt made of chiffon. One very special touch Kara incorporated into her day was in her bouquet; the three pink roses symbolized her bond with her father. Every Valentine’s Day, her father would get her similar roses, so this was a sweet tribute she knew she wanted to include.

Following a beautiful ceremony, the reception took place at the Southern Hills Country Club and featured a romantic palette of navy, gold, white and light pink. Stunning crystal chandeliers hung from the beams, and the celebration was romantic, elegant and comfortable. Everything went smoothly with the help of wedding coordinator, Allison Craig.

As a special treat, the couple chose a donut bar for dessert. Not only did guests enjoy this unique dessert, but they were also served late night snacks of chicken and waffles.

The couple and their loved ones danced the night away thanks for the entertainment from SquadLive. The bride and groom shared their first dance as newlyweds to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

After their night of celebration ended, the two jetted off to Bora Bora for their honeymoon. The couple now resides in Los Angeles, where Kara is in fashion and Andrew works film production.
