Organic Oklahoma Wedding from Gibson Events | Lacy + Mark

A lush garden scene, twinkling lights, a dance floor full of happy family and friends. Lacy never would have guessed the internship she took in college would lead her to the man – and night – of her dreams. Mark was impressed with the passion, enthusiasm, commitment and drive of the new intern in his office. Even though a semester in Italy separated the two who had become close, they kept in contact throughout Lacy’s time abroad. When she returned to the States, she began working full-time for the company Mark had worked for in 2009. Within a year, Mark decided to take a chance and ask Lacy on a date. She declined at first, but after Mark’s gentle persistence, Lacy gave in after about a month. Their love story truly began that night at Othello’s in Norman when a quick dinner turned into an intimate three-hour conversation. Three years later, Mark proposed to Lacy on their anniversary on a surprise trip to New York City.

Location was everything for the couple when planning their nuptials. The ceremony was held at The Chouse in Norman, formerly the St. Thomas More University Parish where the groom attended church as a boy. Lacy Dawn Tyndall married Mark Jerome Cejda on November 2, 2013, in front of an intimate group of family and friends. Rod Macllvaine, the bride’s childhood pastor from Grace Community Church in Bartlesville, officiated the ceremony. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, Michael Tyndall, in a beautiful white gown by Maggie Sottero. Lacy adorned her outfit with a flower sash and cathedral-length veil made of white tulle. She wore her grandmother’s wedding ring and handkerchief, as well as the earrings her parents gave her as a wedding gift.

The bride carried a stunning bouquet composed of flowers in all shades of autumn that was a large, wild mix reflecting the fall garden theme of the event. Florals included olive branches, passion vine, red and terracotta ranunculus, pepper berries, ivory garden roses, Queen Anne’s lace, willow seeded eucalyptus, navy berries and seasonal peonies. In addition to her bundle of blooms, Lacy had her sister, Bethany Nissen, by her side as her maid of honor. She wore a grey floor-length silk chiffon dress from J. Crew Wedding with a one-shoulder neckline. Bethany carried a bouquet composed entirely of baby’s breath. Lacy’s cousins, Charli and Jasmyn Floyd, served as flower girls wearing darling flower crowns and carrying flower petals in the same baskets the bride’s parents used on their wedding day. Mark’s dashing son, Brian Cejda, stood by his father’s side as the best man.

Lacy and Mark carefully selected the reception venue with help from their wedding coordinator, Lindsay Gibson of Gibson Events. They wanted their venue to have a “wow” factor without being stuffy or pretentious. The Greenhouse in Norman, was the final choice, fondly dubbed the “Garden of Eden on steroids” by Mark. It was a new location for all the guests, and the couple loved that it would be a fresh experience for everyone. Not wanting to leave out important people who could not attend the event, their framed photos were hung from olive branches in the entrance of the venue.

Succulents, lush flowers and glittering tea lights decorated the tops of the wooden tables scattered among The Greenhouse’s giant plants. Some flowers were propped up in vintage milk bottles, a collection from the women in the bride’s family. The menu was displayed on a chalkboard propped up on an easel. The SNL Photo Booth provided amusement and lasting memories for everyone in attendance. The entertainment continued as the newlyweds and guests boogied the night away on the dance floor to the musical stylings of DJ Blake Overstreet. Lacy and Mark’s first dance was to “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison.

Lacy slipped on a warm white shawl for the grand exit from the reception. Mark and his new wife climbed into a limousine and headed for a European honeymoon to Lisbon, Portugal and London. The couple returned to the states and now reside in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
