Oklahoma Wedding at Gaylord Pickens Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Emily + Michael
July 26
Emily and Michael met while getting drinks at a gas station. Michael recognized a familiar voice and thought the beautiful figure was his dream girl Emily Sutton, which was right. He always said that if he were given the opportunity he would ask out the popular television meteorologist, so that’s exactly what he did. Michael invited her to visit the fire station where he worked the next day. Emily arrived with homemade brownies, which Michael loved. Since that day, the two have been inseparable.
The couple took a trip to Chicago to visit Emily’s parents. She knew Michael was going to ask her parents’ permission for her hand in marriage, but she had no idea he would pop the question during the same trip. Over a lovely dinner, Michael got down on one knee and asked his dream girl to marry him. Emily excitedly said yes while wiping tears from her eyes.
Emily Sutton and Michael Zurmehly wed on March 19, 2016, at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Gaylord-Pickens Museum under the coordination of Camden Chitwood with Emerson Events. Emily wore a stunning Maggie Sottero dress that she loved for the simplicity, fit and jeweled cap sleeves. The theme of their wedding was colorful, whimsical, romantic and fun. They accomplished this by having a variety of colors including coral, pink, orange and mint. The colors were incorporated in her bridesmaids’ floor-length floral maxi dresses designed by Shelli Segal. One of Emily’s favorite memories from their wedding was after they kissed during the ceremony, their dog Okie barked in approval. The couple’s first dance was to “(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time on You” by NSYNC followed by their song, “Treasure” by Bruno Mars, choreographed with the bridesmaids. Another fun moment was when Emily’s high school friend surprised the couple with a video message from Bill Paxton from Twister congratulating the couple!
The newlyweds ventured to French Polynesia for their honeymoon and currently reside in Oklahoma City.
