Rachel Ferguson and Mark Baker’s Luxe Tulsa Wedding at The Mayo
Surrounded by hues of purple, silver and fuchsia, the bride, Rachel, wore a custom gown by designer Anne Barge as her father escorted her down a glitter-lined aisle. Her one-of-a-kind veil was topped off by a crystal tiara and cascaded beyond her dress and down the grand stairway of Tulsa’s Mayo Hotel, where she and her groom, Mark, exchanged their vows.
Her flower bouquet was wrapped with lace cuffs worn by her mother at her parents’ wedding 37 years prior and hanging from the stems were charms with photos of the bride’s grandparents.
The couple’s “ring security” was their nephews who drove a mini electric Yukon Denali down the aisle to deliver the rings. Their niece looked the part of a mini-bride while scattering flower petals along the glittery path.
The memorable evening was filled with surprises beginning with the couples’ vows. A special family vow included their young son, and then the bride delivered an amusing request to the groom that he vow to never hinder her from rescuing pets, to which he humorously obliged.
The ceremony ended with a live version of the wedding scene from the movie “Love Actually” where musicians, strategically placed throughout the crowd, played the song, “All You Need is Love.”
During the reception the bride and her bridesmaids performed a flash mob routine to music from the movie “Pitch Perfect.” Unbeknownst to the bride, the groom had also planned a routine of his own and performed his own version of the parade scene from the movie, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” complete with a high school band and professional dancers.
The couple had a private last dance, and then guests bid them happily ever after as they rode off in a Cinderella-style carriage.
