A Stately Black & White Wedding with the Perfect Mixture of Cultures

This stately black and white wedding was the perfect mixture of the bride and groom’s two cultures, with a touch of American traditions! As sharing their Persian and Asian cultures with their friends and wedding guests was very important to them, Sara and Aarash infused them in everything possible: from the food to the music, to having their wedding ceremony start with a traditional Persian ceremony. There was no better venue for this elegant affair than Gaillardia Country Club, whose gorgeous ballroom and lush outdoor courtyard elevated the overall style of their big day too well. Bundles of white roses and greenery from Tony Foss Flowers adorned the breathtaking indoor garden-style aisle leading to the romantic traditional Persian “Sofreh Aghd,” where the couple met to say their vows. Stunning black, white and gray decor from Marianne’s Rentals made for beautifully chic and moody tablescapes. Their simple yet luxurious wedding cake from Amy Cakes with white floral and draped-fabric textures combined to create the most unique cake possible. Featured as the cover bride on the Fall/Winter 2020 issue of Brides of Oklahoma, Sara could not have looked more exquisite in her intricately detailed bridal gown from J.J. Kelly Bridal Salon. Her lovely accessories from BC Clark Jewelers and swoon-worthy glam look by Brushed Salon and Makeup Studio of a softly curled low ponytail and a custom coral lip was the perfect winter bridal look. Brett Heidebrecht Photography captured the couple’s big day flawlessly, and we can practically feel their love shining through in each of their adorable photos. From the groom about his favorite memory: “Long before our wedding planning, Sara and I talked about wanting to spend more of our wedding day together. Instead of splitting up the groom’s side and bride’s side the day of the wedding, we chose to get ready at our house together. This allowed us to share some special moments and spend time with our closest friends and family. We were able to have the first look at our house, which was definitely one of the most special parts of our wedding day and something that we both will always remember.”
