Stephyn Spears and Ronnie Stancle’s New Year’s Eve Wedding Captured by Sheradee Hurst Photography
Stephyn and Ronnie met almost three years ago while she was house-shopping with her mom in Oklahoma City. It just so happens that her mother and Ronnie were relators, and also friends! Stephyn spent the next three weeks with Ronnie looking at different homes. The pair had gone to do a final look at the house she had selected to build. Afterward, Ronnie asked if she wanted to join him at a pool party. Ironically, the night before, she was with some girlfriends and made a bet that the next guy to ask them out, they had to say, “Yes.” Stephyn said yes to Ronnie and the couple has been together on their wonderful adventure ever since!
Ronnie proposed at Christmas while the couple was in Hawaii with Stephyn’s family. It never crossed her mind that Ronnie would propose on the trip because he said it would never happen on vacation. On the day he popped the question, the pair was out sightseeing. On a stop, they were checking out the beautiful scenery when she noticed Ronnie walk away. When Stephyn turned, Ronnie was holding the ring. With a shocked expression and tears of joy running down her face, she couldn’t stop staring back and forth between Ronnie and the beautiful ring. After saying yes, she turned to see her family taking pictures nearby. It was perfect!
The couple knew they needed a full year to plan the wedding. It was also important to them to pick a day that was special to them. Stephyn always wanted to have a New Year’s Eve wedding with a timeless, elegant theme. She got just that in her special day! Her bridesmaids wore striking black dresses and the groomsmen wore black tuxes with white jackets from The Wardrobe. Bella Rose was so wonderful with helping the bride find her perfect two-in-one dress. With the boutique’s help, she was able to add a ball gown skirt over her mermaid-style dress. After the ceremony, she removed the ball gown skirt and wore the mermaid dress for the reception.
Stephyn and Ronnie’s reception was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Downtown Oklahoma City. The elegant reception area had enough space to hold the couple’s 300 guests. Tony Foss filled the room with beautiful flowers in varying shades of white. Tony knew the style the couple was going for and nailed it! The talented florist tied in tropical elements to add a touch of Hawaii from when Ronnie proposed. Amy Cakes made a delicious six-layer cake for all to enjoy.
Stephyn and Ronnie’s wedding was nothing but perfect. It was truly a night to remember as they danced the night away and rang in the New Year!
