Tierra and Matthew’s casual boho wedding was the perfect blend to honor their Ghanaian roots. The combination of crimson and pops of rose gold blooms looked incredible with the subtle details of greenery throughout the ceremony and the reception. Also, the pops of metallic gold gave the ceremony a romantic and glam feel. Playing tribute to the culture they grew up with, the couple ensure their African American traditions were apparent in every detail: to the food to the post ceremony games, to the dancing…there was lots and lots of dancing. During the reception, the couple did a traditional Ghanaian money spray with friends and family to celebrate Tierra and Matthew and help them get their new life started. Forever Borrowed did a spectacular job organizing every last detail and helping the newlyweds’ vision come to life. Following the wedding, the couple planned a honeymoon escape with Michelle’s Destinations to spend a week in the sun in Cancun, Mexico. They felt so at ease knowing all their travel accommodations were perfectly planned and no stress would get in the way of relaxation. Read on to hear from the bride about her favorite wedding moment and why. Cheers to the Takyi-Michas!

From the bride: “We did a Money Spray, where it is tradition in Ghanaian culture to dance and toss money at the couple to help them get started in their new life together. There was so much positive energy and excitement in the room!”
