Lauren and Ryan met at O’Connell’s Irish Pub and Grille on Campus Corner in Norman through mutual friends. After years of dating, Ryan took Lauren to a romantic dinner and surprised her with a proposal. Lauren was not expecting to have Ryan ask for her hand in marriage that night, but of course she said yes! Much to Lauren’s surprise, Ryan proposed with a ring he had designed himself, which only added to the perfect proposal!
On June 13, 2015, Lauren and Ryan exchanged heart-warming vows in front of family and friends atop the roof of The Caliber. Lauren wanted a fun, colorful summer palette to go with their garden party theme and opted for corals, pinks, greens and neutrals. Lauren’s bridesmaids wore light pink, short dresses from Weddington Way, each in a different style. The bride’s cake was a simple white wedding cake with white buttercream frosting, and a trail of pink and coral peonies cascading down the front. The groom’s cake was chocolate with chocolate buttercream frosting and a yellow Labrador Retriever on the top, just like the couple’s dog, Sam! The couple asked guests to sign their unique guestbook, which consisted of a collection of Labrador paintings that allowed guests to sign on their favorite picture.
After the wedding, the couple spent their honeymoon in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. The couple currently reside in the Historic Edgemere Park in Oklahoma City; Lauren as a registered nurse and Ryan as a senior financial analyst. The couple keeps the guestbook on their coffee table so they can reminisce on their special day!
