Jessica and Matthew both grew up in Oklahoma City, but as fate would have it, their paths wouldn’t cross until their college days. The pair met on the night of Matt’s 20th birthday, marking the beginning of their extraordinary relationship that flourished even in light of being long distance with Jessica in Dallas and Matt in Houston. Following Matt’s proposal, the couple was anxious to start planning their wedding.

From the very beginning, they knew they wanted a classic wedding – something simplistically detailed yet elegantly humble. Despite the fact they both had moved to Texas after college, large portions of their families still reside in Oklahoma, so being married anywhere else was out of the question. Ultimately, they were married in the beautiful chapel of Crossings Community Church with the reception at Gaillardia Country Club.

Jessica had always dreamed of wearing Monique Lhuillier on her big day. She chose a beautiful mermaid gown from the designer that featured a fitted lace bodice, lace appliques and gorgeous white horsehair trim. Matt wore a white dinner jacket by Ted Baker that served as a perfect complement to Jessica’s dress.

One of Matt’s few requests throughout the planning was to not have a first look. When looking back on their special day, the couple feels strongly that it was perhaps the best decision they made. They describe seeing each other for the first time as a magical feeling that is impossible to articulate, but a moment they will share forever. The reception was full of love and laughter, and they could not have asked for a more special setting to commemorate starting their life together.
