Madison and Michael met on a high school summer leadership retreat at the University of Oklahoma. Several of their close friends were at the same retreat not knowing they would be a part of the couple’s wedding party years later. The couple began dating during their sophomore year of college, and the rest is history.

During summer 2015, Michael enrolled in the OU College of Law’s study abroad program in Oxford, England. Madison had studied there during her undergraduate days and decided to join the group for the beginning of the law program. Michael planned a date for the couple at Madison’s favorite restaurant in Oxford. After their meal, Michael asked Madison if they could take a picture on the bridge. Hesitant that they would be late for the program’s welcome reception, Madison reluctantly agreed. Reminding Madison how important this place had been to their relationship six years prior, Michael got down on one knee and proposed. Moments later their friends rushed out from hiding to celebrate with the happy couple.

The couple was married on December 31, 2016, at St. Mark Catholic Church with the reception at The Skirvin Hilton. The bride carried her late father’s blue rosary as her something blue while wearing a sparkling Allure Couture dress. The groom wore his leather watch that the bride had given him on his 21st birthday.

The Nashes rang in the New Year with family and friends. Gold balloons reading “NASH 2017” graced the ballroom wall, while beautiful garland adorned the tables. The wedding hashtag set the tone for the evening of celebrating, #LetsGetNashty. To the guests’ surprise, the couple had Pizza Shuttle cheesy bread, a college favorite, delivered immediately following a confetti burst at midnight.

The newlyweds honeymooned in St. George’s, Grenada, and currently reside in Norman.
