Melia and Jeff first met on online. Soon after, Jeff asked Melia to The Barrel in Oklahoma City to watch the Thunder game. From the very beginning, they both knew they had something special.
Almost two years later, Melia was at Jeff’s house when she noticed his dog, Bro, had a different collar. Jeff told Melia to look at the dog tag. When she looked closely, she saw written on the tag was, “Will you marry my dad?” Melia turned around and Jeff was on one knee. It was the perfect moment for both of them.
In September, the couple finally said, “I do.” The garden-inspired wedding consisted of lush florals, candles, and a pink, burgundy and gold color scheme. As the bride was walking down the aisle, her veil got stuck in the bushes! She and her father had to wait for the planner to rescue her, but the moment helped ease their nerves.
Melia was glowing in a stunning lace gown by Stella York that featured a sweetheart neckline and trumpet silhouette. To accent her dress, Melia chose a long, beaded veil, gold hoop earrings and a Kate Spade bracelet. Melia added special touches to her bouquet by attaching her grandfather’s wedding band, an antique family locket, and her grandmother’s cameo.
The most memorable moment for the couple was their first look before the ceremony. It was the sweetest and most perfect moment they shared alone basking in pure bliss that they were going to spend forever together.
The reception was just as beautiful and personal as the ceremony. C2 Catering served some of the couple’s favorite foods, including fresh fruit, a taco bar, pulled pork and burger sliders, and green chile mac and cheese. The four-tier cake by Andrea Howard Cakes was coated with white buttercream, edible gold sequins and lush florals. To keep the event fun, Melia and Jeff incorporated games into their reception for both the kids and adults. M&M Productions also kept the energy in the room up. The newlyweds danced to “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds for their first dance.
Melia and Jeff explored the Pacific Northwest for their honeymoon. They are currently enjoying married life in Edmond.
