High school sweethearts Hanna Smith and Hayden Wood wed with a modern romantic black and white wedding. After seven years of dating (and being long-awaited by Hanna), Hayden finally popped the question while the two were admiring the beautiful sunset in Scottsdale, Arizona. Hanna and Hayden’s November black and white wedding affair at Oklahoma Contemporary was sleek and elegant. Due to Covid, many last-minute changes happened 72 hours before the couple said, “I do,” but with Hanna’s amazing team of wedding vendors, the day turned out better than she could have imagined.
The wedding weekend began with the rehearsal dinner at 21c Museum Hotel, catered by Mary Eddy’s Kitchen x Lounge, where close family and friends gathered to celebrate and share stories of the high school sweethearts. Hanna prepared for the special day with facials from Carolyn F. Beauty that transformed her skin and fitness from Pure Barre- Edmond. Hanna glowed from head-to-toe with her elegant gown, while Hayden wore a tux from The Wardrobe Modern Menswear. The hours leading up to the ceremony were spent laughing with the wedding party while getting makeup and hair done. Carolyn, with Carolyn F. Beauty, gave Hanna the natural and effortless makeup look she always wanted. At the same time, Ali with Profile Beauty Nook exceeded all expectations by accommodating Hanna’s request by changing her hairstyle between the ceremony and reception. The reception space became a modern and romantic room with rentals from Marianne’s Rentals. Our favorite detail, the gold champagne shelf that greeted guests as they walked out onto the outdoor terrace for the ceremony. Moments before the couple vowed their lives together, Hanna and Hayden were able to share a sweet moment just the two of them where they took a deep breath before saying “I do” after so many years together. Emily Nicole Photo captured this emotional moment of the couple and so many others throughout the day. After Hanna and Hayden said “yes” to forever, the cocktail hour followed with delicious hors d’oeuvres from Abbey Road Catering. The night ended with lots of dancing, drinks, laughs, and love for the high school sweethearts. From the bride on her favorite memory: “I have so many favorite memories from the day, but one that really sticks out to me was just before the ceremony. While hiding away with the wedding party before the ceremony, I realized I forgot to give Hayden the note I had written him. He was across the room from me, but I had a clear view of him. Watching him read it and get emotional was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever experienced. He looked up at me and had tears in his eyes, and he mouthed “I love you” at me just before he walked down the aisle where I’d meet him at the altar. It was an unplanned moment that wasn’t even photographed, but it was one that I’ll remember forever.”
