Marci and James met through persistent mutual friends who knew they would hit it off. After a year of trying to get them together, they succeeded by inviting them to a World Cup watch party. A month later, James aked Marci on a date and from then they were inseparable!

To Marci’s surprise, James proposed on Valentine’s Day. He patiently waited for the “perfect” moment to propose, which turned out to be when the couple got home from dinner. Not able to keep the ring in his pocket any longer, James pretended to drop his keys when Marci realized he was on bended knee with a ring in hand! Shocked, she happily said yes. Their engagement only got better when she discovered the ring was his late grandmother’s wedding ring.

Marci sought wedding planner Mary Fencl who was phenomenal; she introduced the couple to every impressive vendor. Marci and James shared their first look in a beautiful garden outside Linnaeus Teaching Gardens. A solo guitarist played lovely instrumentals for the ceremony. Meeting her groom at the altar, all of Marci’s nerves faded away. She was elated to add her late mother’s wedding band to her gorgeous ring. She also had a diamond brooch as her “something borrowed” from her grandmother.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour at the Tulsa Historical Society & Museum. The reception tent was decorated in whites and golds, with a large ethereal canopy of purple and white flowers over the head table, created by The French Bouquet. Guests were served dinner expertly prepared by Just Catering by Orr. Amanda Lassiter took beautiful photos for the couple. In addition to marrying James, a touching moment for Marci was dancing with her father who is her rock. Marci and James danced into the night until the sparkler send-off.
