Lauren and Derrick wanted their love to speak for itself in a simplistic romance wedding with earthy boho florals! They chose to keep over-the-top design to a minimum and focused on impactful, romantic elements with warm palettes, which you can see absolutely paid off in their wedding gallery captured by Caroline Eliza Co. Lauren and Derrick first met through his sister when she and Lauren were roommates at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. They kept casual contact, but weren’t anything more until reconnecting in 2018. Now, over ten years later, the pair finally tied the knot! Guests stayed nearby in luxe accommodations at The Mayo Hotel which made for easy transportation to the wedding venue in Jenks. Following a full morning of getting ready with her best girls, it was finally time for Lauren and Derrick to say “I do!” An outdoor altar adorned with textural earth-toned boho florals in installations by Ever Something awaited Lauren to be walked down the aisle by her mom to the start of her forever with Derrick, but not before she snuck a quick peek inside at the reception magic that was later to unfold.
“I remember entering the venue just before walking down the aisle and I was just mesmerized how beautiful everything looked. The tables, the gorgeous centerpieces and candles, the cake and the table settings. Everything exceeded my expectations.”
Her vision of simplistic romance totally came together in scenes of mauve, burgundy, neutrals and navy decorated with whitewashed décor and rentals from Party Pro Rents. Tablescapes were set perfectly for guests with overgrown floral centerpieces and luxe crystal and gold flatware. A triptych of cakes from Sweet Devotion Cakery were right on dress code for the day, embellished with boho florals like fern fronds, garden roses, and gilded abstract accents that make them total works of art. Overall, both bride and groom agreed the day was a dream come true, and they were so happy to celebrate with their loved ones that were able to make it. Read on for a note from bride Lauren on one of her favorite wedding day memories about walking down the aisle and what made it so special. Cheers to the new Spencers!
From the bride: “It’s hard to pick a favorite moment that stands out above them all, but one I will cherish forever was having my mom walk me down the aisle. My dad passed away in May of 2020, and not having him there was very difficult. What some may not know is that we actually tied my dad’s wedding band on my bouquet, so a part of him could be with me also.”
