Meg Weir and Matt Payne’s Whimsical Parisian Garden Wedding

Meg and Matt had known each other for years, growing up within a mile of each other. But it wasn’t until Matt took a trip through Oklahoma City while on his way home to Los Angeles that their relationship grew into something more. While Matt was in town, they grabbed drinks, which turned into hours of talking. Within two weeks, Meg was flying out to visit him in Los Angeles. They’ve been together since.

Matt proposed to Meg by surprising her at her barn. He stood in front of her favorite horse’s stall with candles lit throughout the hallway and rose petals on the ground leading from the entryway to him. Down on one knee, he asked for her hand in marriage.

On June 18, 2016, Meg and Matt were married at St. Edward’s Chapel of Casady School. Meg wore a beautiful gown with a beaded and embroidered corset bodice with a modified A-line. The dress had three components, allowing her to have three different looks throughout the night. One of the couple’s most memorable moments from the wedding was the first look. They loved getting to see each other before the wedding and enjoying that special moment with one another.

The reception was held at a private residence, where Meg and Matt had their first dance to “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys. For their grand exit, they drove off in a 1927 convertible Model A Ford Phaeton – with sparklers shining from every angle. The entire day was one they will remember forever.
After the ceremony, Meg and Matt honeymooned in Baja Peninsula, Mexico. They are currently enjoying married life in Edmond.
