Shelby and Alaric’s whimsical vintage wedding at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri, is full of blush florals and the bride wore a gorgeous custom gown. This quaint chapel on the main property at Big Cedar is one of many picturesque wedding spots to tie the knot. It’s one of the most breathtaking venues and it’s just a few hours from Tulsa.
We are firm believers in fate, especially after reading Shelby and Alaric’s love story. The couple first met while attending college in Tulsa. The two had a class together but unfortunately lost touch once the class ended. The following fall, both Shelby and Alaric transferred to the University of Central Oklahoma. The two bumped into one another while studying in the library. Talk about fate! Shelby gave Alaric her number, and the rest is history. After realizing they were soulmates, Alaric got down on one knee. Alaric proposed at Shelby’s favorite place in the world, her parents’ house.
Once reality set in, the two began planning their whimsical vintage wedding. Close family and friends were invited to an intimate wedding with invitations from The Letter Box featuring the chapel’s facade. Inside the breathtaking chapel at Big Cedar, the most beautiful whimsical floral arch adorned with light pink blooms was their ceremony focal point. Shelby walked down the aisle in a custom gown from Valentine Bridal. With sheer long sleeves and a big bow on the back, Sonni from Valentine Bridal created the perfect vintage-inspired gown. Of course, we can’t forget about our groom. Alaric looked handsome in a khaki-washed suit from EVERYMAN. After the two said, their “I do’s,” the couple and guests made their way to their whimsical vintage reception. Party Pro Rents provided rentals that made for a picturesque vintage dinner party under the evening summer sky. Also, how could we forget one of our favorite details from Shelby and Alaric’s wedding, a personalized portrait of the couple and their pup from Amy Lee Illustrations. The couple had guests sign the picture in place of a guest book. We absolutely love this idea! Underneath the sunset, Shelby and Alaric enjoyed the company of their guests, great food, and lots of dancing to end their perfect wedding weekend. From the bride on her favorite memory: “My favorite memory had to be the chapel send off! Exiting the chapel and having all of our friends and family toss lavender in the air was like a vintage movie coming to life – a moment I will never forget!”
